"The Lost Sheep" Finds New Home In New
Down-To-The-Bone Inspirational Anthology
"The Lost Sheep" series offers hope and faith from God's Restoration
CHARLOTTE, NC-- Have you made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ that's still important in your life today? Are you confident you'll go to Heaven when you die because you've confessed your sins and accepted Jesus Christ as your savior? According to Barna Research Studies (a Christian research firm), if you answered "yes" to both questions, you are "born again."
Barna's research has also uncovered a startling truth: In the last decade there has only been a 4 percent increase in the number of born-again Christians in the United States--rising from a low 34 percent in 1994 to a weak improvement of 38 percent in 2005.
Sabra A. Robinson is determined to increase that number through her new inspirational anthology, "The Lost Sheep: How I Got (And Am Still Getting) Over the Hump: Personal Accounts of God's Restoration After Doubting His Purpose, the Church, and Human Existence." In fact, Robinson is excited to announce the selected contributors--who vary from church workers to established writers--to this new anthology. These real people share their "down-to-the-bones" true stories through testimonials, journal entries, scripture, poems and illustrations in this first in a volume of inspirational works.
Thanks to Robinson's internet campaign for submissions, this first volume features stories from as far away as Africa. Readers will be inspired by Malvis Sannah, who gives her account of surviving genocide and civil unrest in her native country of Sierra Leone. Men will identify with Carl Neely, who touches on restoration from a male point of view. And readers will be encouraged by Katherine Waddell, who details her dreaded encounter with a serial killer.
"I want others to know that they are not the only ones going through something and there is hope," said Robinson. "Although [God] is our restorer, reading and knowing others have been restored by Him provides a sense of security in knowing that He is with us always."
The second volume in "The Lost Sheep" book series will be released in late 2006 (pending sufficient contributors).
